Getting lost in Murkwood.

One idea I had for Murkwood was that, for the sake of immersion, there haven't been very many successful cartographers who have made it out of the region alive, so the map shouldn't always be able to tell you you are in Murkwood (hence the "uncharted"). In the development of the mod we'd obviously have it labeled appropriately for each region but when the final release comes we could edit it out into uncharted for most of Murkwood and splinters of surrounding area.

You mean the region itself is called 'Uncharted'?

The region and snippets around the region would say uncharted or unexplored or lost or something when the region name appears over your map ingame, yes, but the region does have its own name and would be referred to Murkwood by in game characters. When the player goes exploring though we'd want to create a sense of being lost.
